Copycats

I’m really not loving much new music or new artists these days. I’m a huge fan of pop music. Britney Spears is my all time favorite and in my opinion, no one can top her. No Doubt/Gwen Stefani and Lily Allen run a very, very close second. It’d have to be a photo finish between the three. Of the newer artists, I have to admit, I do love Lady GaGa. Her songs are poppy, catchy, dancey and fun. She’s so strange, but I like it. So anyway, I’ve been unimpressed lately. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that everything sounds the same. Songs are just copies of other songs. Check this out:

And then there is Christina Aguilera. Her new song sounds an awful lot like Britney and the video looks like  a combination of Lady GaGa and old school Madonna.

She's also been taking heat for copying GaGa's look. Here's an outfit she sports in her new video that GaGa wore last year.

I'm not the biggest fan of Christina. I usually like a few of her singles, but I never buy her albums. But I do think she is incredibly talented (even more so than my dear Britney) and doesn't have to hide behind the costumes or shock value videos.

pagi2 bener jam 5.30 gue berangkat dari rumah ngikut ke kantor nyokap (daripada gue bosen dirumah).. trus gue maen tuh di kantow nyokap..

tiba2 udah jam 8 dan gue minta anterin ke strada buat ngembaliin rapor, buku cetak ips sama buku cetak pkn..

di strada gue ketemu sama kindida sama claudia.. gue heran ngapain nih mereka berdua ke strada? ternyata mereka bermain di strada.. ckckck

ya udah gue langsung nyari bu krista ke lantai 2 buat balikin rapor.. dan itu pun gue ngelewatin lapangan yang ternyata DIA lagi OR!! abis dari ruang guru gue ke perpustakaan nyari bu catherine buat ngembaliin buku cetak ips ama buku cetak pkn.. tapi gue balikin buku cetak pkn doank.. soal'a buku cetak ips gue ilang!! dan juga gue mesti gantiin tuh buku!! --a

pas gue mau pulang gue nyempetin liat lapangan dulu buat liat DIA!!!♥♥ tapi dia malah gak ada.. :( ya udah gue jalan ke lobby.. tiba2..

Its wednesday and i'm home early again! =DDD

Had napfa 5stations on monday and i had 3Cs and 2As. It was our first time doing 5stations and its the test already. Wadaheck. AND i am still pissed at that male pe tcher for wad he said to chen yan. (*points little finger*) Think i'll like fail my 2.4km tmr. Hope i dun faint and die on the track.

Monday's chem test was screwed so was today's math test. Conclusion: i think i'm stupid. Ytd was chionging day, had to rush for lunch, rush for Ong's 'self study' session, rush for wushu, rush my PI, rush my math revision. And den today leh??? Kns, nth to do except physics and chem tutorial loh.

Wu shu training ytd was torture.... First session where coach taught us personally. The warm-ups were already like tearing my groin muscles apart alrready LA. Next, we lie on the floor and he pushes our leg horizontally upwards (like a split just that we're lying down.). WAKAO. My ass felt like splitting. And the seniors just sit there. Watch. Laugh. Nvm, i'll have my turn next year.

Today was as per normal wednesday. Had fun for PW period coz ITS A FREE PERIOD. Duh. Went neexus to slack then the guys suggested to go play soccer and basketball so we tagged along and watched. As i've expected, they got caught for playing in sch U. =) They think their CWO not enough har? So gonna get shoot by Ong tmr. Once again, 04 is being known as a rowdy class. =D

I'm so not looking forward to tmr. Watch. me. stone.

I'm a Gleek

When we got our first sneak peek episode of Glee last May, I was in love. This show was right up my alley. I love singing and musicals. I love shows about high school. And I love Ryan Murphy. I couldn’t wait for the fall season premiere and had already set my TiVo’s season pass.

But I was disappointed when it aired in September. I mean, I liked it. It was kinda funny, the cast was cute, the singing was good. But after the fourth episodes, I just couldn’t get into it. It felt like I was watching a B movie. The acting was terrible, the lip syncing was off and characters Rachel and Emma drove me nuts! So I deleted it from TiVo and moved on to other shows. (Like Modern Family. Have you seen it? It’s so hilarious and has heart and both my husband and I really love it, which is rare.) I have to admit, that I still loved the music the Glee cast was putting out and I bought each CD on itunes as they were released.

I knew I had to watch the Madonna episode, because, come on, it’s Madonna. And hearing the CD that morning made me a little bit excited for the episode. I absolutely adore the guys singing, “What it Feels Like for a Girl.” So I watched the show and kinda loved it. Then I went back and watched the earlier episodes and now I’m hooked. The acting, songs and story lines got better. The cast grew in size and I’m loving them.

As soon as the Madonna episode aired, there was all this talk about doing a Britney episode. Yes. Yes. YES! I quickly joined that facebook group. Hahaha. I’m also looking forward to the Lady GaGa songs too!

Before Glee and before Nip/Tuck, Murphy created a little unknown show (but one of my all time favorites) called Popular, which aired 1999-2001 on The WB. It was sort of the anti-Dawson's Creek. It’s about high school. The weird kids versus the popular kids. The blondes versus the brunettes. The characters are amazing and hilarious. I think it just came out before it’s time, didn't have success in the ratings and ended abruptly with a huge cliffhanger at the end of the second season. BOO! I actually never watched it when it was on tv, but my best friend introduced it to me about five years ago. Now I own both seasons and watch them about twice a year and continue to quote them, though only he and my sister know what I’m talking about. If you can, check it out. Everyone who borrow the DVDs has absolutely loved it. Great, great show.

In my previous post, I mentioned just a few of my boyfriends. My favorite one, by far, and for the longest time, is Jake Gyllenhaal. And boy have I missed him. He hasn’t made the talk show rounds since November while promoting Brothers, and even then, he didn’t do many interviews. But Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time hits theaters May 28th and since it’s a Disney flick, I’m sure he’ll be out promoting it in full force. So I am getting my TiVo ready and spending a lot of time online reading all his latest interviews. This month he was featured on the cover of GQ here and in Russia.

Although this really isn’t my type of movie at all, I will be seeing it. I made that decision last year when this photo surfaced. While I'm not digging the long hair (I don't on anyone), Jake can never do wrong in my book.

(Side note: I never like him and Reece together. I love her independently, but they really bugged me as a couple. Also, I’m confused. She broke up with him because he took too much time away from her life with her children. Well, then why do I see pictures of her EVERYWHERE with her boyfriend of two months, Jim Toth? It’s totally ok by me. I don’t want her to reconnect with Jake. I’m just sayin’.)

And then I saw the trailer and movie stills and film posters and although I could care less about the plot, I got even more excited to see it.

You can bet that I’ll be at the movies over Memorial Day weekend for the release of this movie.
