Help needed to rebuilt the San Antonio school

Dear Friends,

I have just had a visit from Lic. Juan Carlos who is the head of the Education dept.here in Solola.
He is asking for help to build a school in San Antonio.
One school is unable to be used because it was right in the pathway of the mud slides.
There has been a lot of damage. They have climbed above it and there are some huge boulders that could come down on it so they don't want to re build it.
The other school is o.k. but it also was in the path of a mud slide probably during Stan.
One school has 504 students . The other school has 560 students.
They have decided at present that all the students will use the one school .
They will go for three hour sessions only so that all the children will have a chance.

They have been given a piece of land that is 20 x 20 meters. It is flat and in a good location , apparently near the cemetery.
This is where they want to build a new school.
They are asking for help with materials and with one builder. There are 47 school teachers who are willing to work voluntarily on the building.
They don't want to wait for help that is supposed to come from the govt. because they feel that they don't know when or if it will come.
They are willing just to make a very long building out of tin sheeting and then break the rooms up depending on how many rooms in each grade.
The other option is that they can build second floor on the school that is still standing.
This school is made like a flight of steps. There is one floor, then the second floor built further in and then the third floor built even further back. I hope you understand my description. One classroom already has a cement roof so a second classroom could be built easily on that. The other two classrooms have tin sheeting roof and would have to have cement lay ed on the roof to be able to build the classrooms.

If you have a club or a school or a church that would like to help with the rebuilding of this school please consider approaching them. It doesn't have to be the total amount. Which they expect will be something like $20,000. If we get this amount we could start building in block rather than tin.
If you would just like to make a personal donation towards the school that would also be greatly appreciated.
Any amount will help them get started.

HOW GULLIBLE ARE WE?

A student at Eagle Rock Junior High won first prize at the Greater Idaho Falls Science Fair. He was attempting to show how conditioned we have become to alarmists practicing junk science and spreading fear of everything in our environment. In his project he urged people to sign a petition demanding strict control or total elimination of the chemical "dihydrogen monoxide."

And for plenty of good reasons, since:


1. it can cause excessive sweating and vomiting
2. it is a major component in acid rain
3. it can cause severe burns in its gaseous state
4. accidental inhalation can kill you
5. it contributes to erosion
6. it decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes
7. it has been found in tumors of terminal cancer patients

He asked 50 people if they supported a ban of the chemical.


* Forty-three (43) said yes,
* Six (6) were undecided,
* Only one (1) knew that the chemical was water.

The title of his prize winning project was, "How Gullible Are We?"

He feels the conclusion is obvious.

LAND-SLIP

The landslide on the way to Central Pendam School of East Sikkim is causing much trouble to the students ,the road is filled with mud and fallen trees.

AFFORESTATION

The State of Sikkim has been primarily concerned with the conservation & protection of Forests and other natural resources in the state. In the State, though the Greenery along the road side is good it needs to be enhanced to the maximum level to protect the roads from landslides, slips, sinking and also to maintain the aesthetic beauty.

Students of Class XII planted saplings around the school as part of Green Mission.The school is having lot of trees around it and look so beautiful this season.

Harlowwx eh its been dunno hw many donkey yrs since i posted ...ps!!!Haiz maths test gt 26/40 i was aiming for A1...too MANY CARELESS MISTAKES, so lost marks..=.= NVM the nxt alebra test i pia!^^Heh.
Band is fun but stressful sometimes but i am trying to get my tone!!!!!!!!(eeeeee its airy) The trumpet junior very cute worx bai bai fat fat de but i think is martin de didi O.O (i happie coz i taller!!^^) ~jk~ Erm my junior asho nt bad arhx ^^ i like her hair though...lolx. (i'm still scared of Mr Lim)
Haiz...i still gt 5months to change hp.....
The podcasting lesson was fun.(coz the mac com was cool) The self esteem talk asho but the image a bit censored and disgusting.Mr Leow's lesson was O.K. but i cant stand his mono tone---------- v-o-i-c-e- i wan sleep....But the practical was fun. o.<
