Well, we did it. We got to see Neil Patrick Harris’s special engagement of RENT at the Hollywood Bowl!
The Bowl was so cool. Everyone gets there early to picnic and drink and just hang out hours before a performance starts. We might have gotten there a little too early for Jacob.
RENT itself was amazing! I had low expectations of a few stars (uh hem, Vanessa Hudgens and Nicole Scherzinger), so the all star cast actually impressed me. The music seemed to be a little slow the entire performance and they had to tweak a few things to make the production work on that particular stage, but it turned out pretty well. It was definitely a performance for people who’ve already seen it. The crowd was singing along and cheering non-stop. It was a lot of fun!
