Why I am an Art History Major

(and Richard Tuttle is an Artist)

perhaps proper execution was lost
when searching to find the perfect conclusion
to time spent
reading books
finding interest
and keeping up with the world
perhaps those who can't do talk about it
perhaps those who can, can't speak
I am hopeful to manipulate substance far greater
than historical time lines
and catalogued archaeological digs
to abstract,
give justice and show the beauty in life
without a dissertation or thesis
that perhaps I am truly an artist
belonging only to myself,
without rules and riding on raw talent;
however,
I think above all
I was just utterly lost as to what to make
of forty grand and five years eating Ramen noodles.
