The first ever Youth Olympic Games (YOG) was held in Singapore from August 14 to August 26 2010. Athletes range from 14 to 18. New Zealand has participants.

This event is close to my heart. The Youth Olympic Village is located in Nanyang Technological University. For more than half of my adult life, I have lived here as an ex pat faculty wife. The campus is full of greenery, and I hope the young athletics had a good stay.

The photo shows the university's oval, and on the right the swimming pool. It was here, I trained for my 10 km Marathon running. My friend L. trained with me at 6 am in the morning, we added 800 metres per day. Later, we did our circuit of running round the university campus. The day, we completed our 10 km, we High 5ed

Ruby Red: Temple in Singapore

My sisters Helen and Grace went to visit a Chinese Temple in Singapore with their kids. Do look at what Helen and Grace are wearing. I surmise that they were asked to wear this wrap-around skirt.

Once we went to the Royal Palace and Temple in Bangkok. I had to rent a wrap-around skirt because my knee length shorts revealing my legs were disrespectful of their Gods.
It just makes me think that "When in Rome, do what the Romans do."

The Singapore Zoological Gardens or commonly known as the Singapore Zoo, occupies 28 hectares (0.28 km²) of land on the margins of Upper Seletar Reservoir within Singapore's heavily forested central catchment area. This is rather difficult for young feet to walk in the tropical humid weather.

These wagons are much welcomed for the little ones to sit on.
